Jenna, one of the girls on the Vanderbilt Rally Team works for the coffee shop on campus, Music City Coffee Company. One day at work, she told her boss, Bill about Rally Across America, and they decided that they could make special Rally Cupcakes to help us raise money for our journey! He got in touch with the Christy Cookie Company, and they made these awesome cupcakes. We get a percentage of each sale.
The best part is the icing – it’s the kind that makes your tongue change color!

Saturday Encounters
Today's training ride was good despite cold temperatures (53 F, wind N at 15 mph). While riding I made a careful accounting of the things that I saw on the road:
1 coyote
3 turkeys
1 raccoon (deceased)
2 herds of cattle (one heard was sitting, the other was standing)
12 cyclists
countless vehicles (one near miss . . . j/k mom)
In addition to this list, I encountered a lost motorist who asked me for directions. Unfortunately, he caught me at a time when I was also lost, so I was of no help to him. Instead, we both laughed and agreed that being lost while driving a car was much better than being lost while driving a bike.
